The GHMC came under criticism for its unilateral decision of deleting votes and reorganisation of wards to appease ruling State government. The officials have to give prior notice to delete votes, if not, they have to paste a notice copy on the door of the house. Opposition alleged voter names deleted from electoral list in the wards where TDP, Congress and BJP are strong. Media reports have raised fingers towards the outgoing GHMC chief Somesh Kumar and CEO Bhanwarlal. The ruling party wants to fix GHMC poll dates for Sankranthi when AP settlers are away for holidays.
