Union Minister of Environment Prakash Javadekar said that the Central government would grant environmental clearances for the construction of new capital for AP. He stated that the Centre would give permission after the submission of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report. He clarified that the Union Forests Ministry would follow the same procedure, which were followed while creation of new states. Meanwhile, another Union Minister Sujana Chowdary made it clear that environmental clearance was not required for laying the foundation stone to Amaravati.
