TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said previous Congress government had designed Pranahita-Chevella project to provide water for drinking and irrigation purpose in eight districts. Even, the then TRS leaders said Pranahita-Chevella project is lifeline for Telangana, he added. Mallu said that Centre would have granted national status to Pranahita-Chevella project if Telangana government led an all-party delegation to New Delhi. Mallu said water could have been provided to Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy and Mahbubnagar districts with Mahbubnagar-Ranga Reddy LI scheme and same with Dummugudem tail pond project in Khammam. He slammed TRS government for redesigning irrigation projects.
