AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who had demanded special category status to AP for 15 years while he was in opposition, is now compromising with the BJP-led NDA government. In the previous general elections, both BJP and TDP have assured of granting special status to AP once they came to power. Now, both parties are dodging the issue. Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu is now speaking about special package and not special status to AP. Even the TDP Ministers in NDA government are not tendering resignation to exert pressure on Centre for special status.
