The year 2014 has recorded a series of natural calamities affecting the lives of people.The month of May recorded many deaths caused by the scorching heat of the Sun.Scarcity of rainfall in Telangana and Rayalaseema resulted in famine in August.The floods caused by incessant rains in September caused havoc in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.Khammam, Adilabad of Telangana and East Godavari, West Godavari, Srikakulum of Andhra Pradesh were flooded by rains in the same month. Cyclone Hudhud devastated North Andhra Pradesh in October. Vizag retained the dubious distinction of being the first city in India to be directly hit by a cyclone. The environmentalists inform that the increasing global warming is the reason for all the natural calamities.
