'Chandamama Kathalu' bags best Telugu film award in 62nd National Film Awards

New Delhi, March 24, 2015: Omung Kumar's “Mary Kom” with actress Priyanka Chopra in lead was named the most popular film providing wholesome entertainment at the 62nd National Film Awards announced here Tuesday. The biopic on boxer and five-time World Champion M.C. Mary Kom won appreciation from all quarters. While 'Chandamama Kathalu' was named the best Telugu film in the regional category, journalist Pasupuleti Purnachandra Rao had bagged the national award for best writing on cinema. Actress Kangana Ranaut has been named best actress for her film "Queen". She portrays a simple girl named Rani who goes on a honeymoon alone and experiences a journey of self-discovery. The film was lauded by audiences and critics alike.
