Blanket ban on Plastic flexi from November 1 in AP

Amaravathi, September 23: The AP government has issued a gazette on Thursday imposing total ban on plastic flexis and banners from November 1. This ban is applicable to manufacturing, imports, usage, and transportation of plastic banners also. The government suggested to use cotton instead of plastic for banners. 
 
Pollution control officials, municipal commissioners and sanitation staff will monitor the implementation of the ban in cities and towns while district collectors, ZP CEOs and panchayat staff will look after in rural areas. 
 
If anyone violates the ban, a penalty of Rs 100 per square feet will be imposed. Also, action will be taken against the violators as per Environment Act-1986. Not only this, the officials will collect the expenditure to scientifically dispose the seized plastic banners from the violators. Police, revenue, transport and GST officials will cooperate with the officials, who monitor plastic ban implementation.
