Lightning kills four in Eluru
Eluru, August 18: Four farm labourers were killed and three others injured in a lightning strike in Bogolu village, Lingampalem mandal on Wednesday night.
About 30 labourers came to work in eucalyptus plantation in the village and staying there in tents. When they were cutting the trees in the early hours of Wednesday, lightening struck them. Four workers died on the spot and three workers received injuries. The deceased were shifted to Eluru Government Hospital.
The deceased were identified as Rayudu Raju, Varupula Dharmaraju, Gutthula Konda Babu and Konupu Reddy. All the labourers belong to Kakinada district.
Police registered a case and took up investigation.
