Bandi Sanjay writes letter to KCR, says paddy procurement moving at a snail’s pace

Hyderabad, April 30: Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay on Saturday wrote a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, reminding him to fulfil his promise of purchasing every grain from the farmers. Even after 15 days of CM’s announcement, all paddy purchase centres were not opened, he said.

Bandi Sanjay told KCR that only two centres out of 71 were opened in Gadwal, 19 out of 225 in Wanaparthy, and 70 out of 91 in Narayanpet. He informed the CM that some farmers met him during his Praja Sangrama Yatra in combined Mahabubnagar district and brought the issue to his notice.

So far, the BJP chief mentioned that 2,500 paddy purchase centres were opened throughout the state from the total of 7,000. “The state government had purchased only 2 lakh tonnes of grain till date when it was supposed to procure 60 lakh tonnes of paddy,” he slammed and assured farmers that the BJP will fight on behalf of them till the KCR government purchases entire stock of paddy.
