Cobra entering aircraft at Shamshabad caught

Hyderabad, May.20: A seven-foot-long snake, which managed to slither its way past the high security compound walls of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad and almost entered the landing gear compartment of an aircraft on the tarmac kept the authorities on tenterhooks for quite some time on Saturday.

The airport staff noticed the snake near the aircraft and alerted officials, who immediately called the internal wildlife group comprising snake charmers, to capture it. But the black reptile, suspected to be a cobra, made the staff and onlookers watch the drama for a few tense moments. However, the airport ground staff heaved a sigh of relief after catching it and said had the serpent entered the aircraft it could have done harm to the passengers
