KTR pays rich tributes to Ambedkar

Hyderabad, April.14: IT Minister KT Rama Rao today paid rich tributes to Constitution architect BR Ambedkar on the occasion of his 126th birth anniversary here. He said the Telangana Government was treading the ideals of Dr Ambedkar and coming up with schemes ideal to other States in the country.

KTR participated in the Ambedkar Anniversary celebrations at Adaiah Nagar ground along with Ministers T Srinivas Yadav, Padmarao Goud, MP B Suman and others. Paying floral tributes to Ambedkar, KTR said that the TRS Government is pro poor and pro farmers and implementing several schemes for their welfare. Under Ambedkar Overseas scheme the state government is providing Rs 20 lakh financial assistance to the poor for foreign studies he said.

The Minister stated that the Telangana Government is spending more funds for welfare than 28 states together spending for welfare in the country. Our is the only Government spending huge amount of Rs 5300 cr funds for the welfare of 40 lakh people, the minister said. He also said to provide a square meal a day for the poor the government has lifted the ceiling on rice scheme and giving six kilos per head through ration cards. He listed out the welfare schemes stating that Rs 75,116 towards marriage of poor girls under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is determined to provide permanent shelter to the poor through the double bedroom scheme he said adding that the construction works are on fast pace and there is no room for giving bribe to avail the facility.

Stating that vacant posts will be filled, the government is providing job and employment opportunities to the educated in the state and offering training to youth through Trifed. Stating that the youth are being encouraged through SC and ST Development Act which was recently promulgated he said adding that they have stopped clubs and cheap liquor production.

Referring to double bedroom housing scheme, he said that registration of houses at Adaiah Nagar, Nallagutta and Boyiguda will be completed in a week days. Besides giving Rs 3 cr for digital library and Rs 20 lakhs were sanctioned towards repair of government school.  He flayed that the previous Congress government ignored the welfare of the poor and deprived class. The people should be aware of nefarious designs of the opposition leaders who are frequently trying to cause hurdles to development works, he said.
