Samantha to play scribe in ‘Mahanati’
It is well aware that director Nag Ashwin is getting ready to mould a film, titled Mahanati, based on the biography of popular heroine of yesteryears Savitri. Keerthi Suresh has been selected to play the title role, while there is information that Samantha Ruth Prabhu has also been playing another important role. Earlier, it was rumoured that Samantha may play the role of Savitri’s contemporary and another top heroine Jamuna.
It is a surprise after learning about an interesting update on the film. Buzz is that Samantha is playing the role of a film journalist, who actually narrates the story of Savitri in the movie. In fact, Samantha is doing the role of a journalist, who is conducting a research on the life and history of Savitri. While conducting the research, she narrates Savitri’s history. The director etched the character based on the lifestyle and histrionics of journalists of 1980s.
According to reports, the film will have Vijayawada in its backdrop and Mickey J Meyer was roped in to score music for the movie and Meyer is supposed to score the music of the days from 1950s to 1980s. It may be mentioned here that Suriya was approached to play the role of Gemini Ganeshan and he reportedly refused to do that role.
