TTDP seeks CID probe into irregularities in Bodhan

Hyderabad, Feb.23: Telangana TDP leader and party’s national official spokesperson E Peddireddy today demanded that the State government order a CID probe into the alleged irregularities in paying market cess by rice millers in Bodhan in Nizamabad district.

Speaking to the media, E Peddireddy alleged that in spite of reports about irregularities that rice millers were avoiding to pay market cess to the government, the latter was not taking the issue seriously and only taking nominal action. The act of rice millers in Bodhan was causing  a loss of hunded crore ranging from Rs 1,500 crore to Rs 2,000 crore  to the exchequer where as the government has claimed that it has recovered Rs 50 crore as fine. He asked why the State government was not taking severe action against those who were indulging in irregularities. If the government fails to get details, the party would mount pressure on it, he said.

Peddireddy also said a house committee should be set up if necessary to get details of information about the irregularities and demanded a white paper on number of rice millers and how many of them were paying taxes.
