Scrap ET Exemption For GPSK, 'Voice of Telangana' Approaches HC

Representatives from 'Voice of Telangana' and 'Telangana Democratic & Secular Alliance' approached High Court to restrain the state governments from awarding the tax waiver to GPSK.

GPSK(Gautamiputra Satakarni) is a life history of Satavahana emperor Satakarni, who had ruled this land in 2nd century CE.

As part of their policy decision of encouraging historical movies, Telangana government announced ET(Entertainment Tax) exemption to GPSK. Taking cue from Telangana government Andhra Pradesh also exempted ET for this movie.

But several critics slammed the movie and alleged that it is a complete fictional and commercial entertainer which made to make money. Few also commented that with a political motivation history was diverted.
