KCR Announces 'Living Wages' For Lonely Women

Hyderabad: CM KCR on Friday announced yet another humanitarian scheme of the State Government to provide “living wages” of Rs.1000/- per month to single lonely women in the state.

The announcement was made by the Chief Minister in the Telangana Assembly immediately after the question hour amidst thumping of desks from all sides.

The living wages for single lonely women scheme would be implemented from next financial year and the required funds would be allocated in the budget that would be introduced in March 2017.As per preliminary estimates, there are about 2-3 lakh lonely women in the state, the Chief Minister said.

Necessary directions were issued to the District Collectors to immediately enroll details of lonely women, the Chief Minister also appealed to all single lonely women throughout the state to enroll their names with the Government to avail living wages under the scheme. He also wanted the legislators to take utmost care so that only genuine lonely women only could get benefited by new scheme.
