Provide better services in small districts: Jupally

Hyderabad, Sept.3: In the wake of delimitation of districts officials and staff should focus on providing better services to the people, Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao has said.

At a review meeting at rural development office here with officials, he said that the government can now offer transparent and yet speedy services at the doorsteps of the people with the new districts. Stating that they are planning to club DRDA and DWAMA, he said that existing system of zilla parishats and mandals will continue until its time period completes.

The new districts formation will cut the distance to just 60 km to 70 km from existing 100 km to 200 km he said. With this, the Collectors, SPs and other top officials will be able to offer the best and speedy services to the people the minister maintained. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has got the idea of delimitation of the districts during elections and now implementing it for offering improved services.

Panchayat Raj special chief secretary SP Singh said that there is no scope for geographical area except some changes to a little extent for the new districts. Commissioner Anith Ramachandran said that APDs would be appointed as monitoring officials in the districts and some officials to be appointed in-charges in the mandals. The officials later expressed pleasure at the delimitation of the districts as that will pave the way for speedy and improved services as part of good governance.
