Owaisi flays Congress ire, welcomes TS-Maha pact

Hyderabad, Aug.27: AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi today said the Congress leaders have no technical knowledge on the irrigation projects and needlessly making a hue and cry over the Telangana signing an agreement with the Maharashtra government. Talking to the media here on Saturday, Asaduddin welcomed CLP leader K Jana Reddy’s comment that the Congress government did not make any agreement for constructing 152-tall reservoir on Tummidihatti. The Congress Telangana Chief Utham Kumar Reddy should stop politicizing the issues and mind the comments of Jana Reddy, he suggested. He also flayed the Congress for its dual standards and cheap publicity on the projects. Owaisi sought to know why the Congress did not complete a single project during its regime. Though it laid foundation stone for Pranahitha in 2008, the Congress did not supply waters to a single acre, the MIM Chief pointed out. The farmers will not support the governments if they fail to leave the works behind by laying just foundation stones, he added. Asaduddin also welcomed the pact signed by the TRS Government with Maharashtra government and asked the former to complete all the projects across the Godavari by 2019. Stating that the pact will help complete the projects and irrigate 40 lakh acres in North Telangana, Owaisi opined that there was no need of finding fault with the redesigning of the projects and appreciated the pact signed by the two chief ministers in the wake of ongoing water wars among States. The Telangana and Maharashtra pact will surely help Telangana to a great extent in the irrigation sector, he asserted.
