Vinod resents congress jibe on irrigation

Sun, Aug 21, 2016, 07:18 PM
Hyderabad, Aug.21: TRS MP B Vinod Kumar today lashed out at the Opposition for its “mindless” criticism against the State government on the irrigation projects.

Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan here on Sunday, Vinod said the Congress leaders have no moral right to make “useless” comments against the State government. He said as Chief Minister K Chnadrasekhar Rao was going to sign a historic pact with his Maharashtra counterpart Devendra Fadnavis on August 23 for the projects on the Adilabad border, the Opposition was getting envious as it could not complete a single project during their regime and putting spikes in the development process, Vinod Kumar fumed. He also asked the Congress leaders like Uttam Kumar Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka , Shabbir Ali and others to desist from mud-slinging on the irrigation projects. The Congress lacks common sense on the irrigation projects, he charged.

The State government was keen on constructing a barrage at Medigadda for availability of water, he said, adding that there is a need for avoiding 800 tmc waters going waste downstream from Kaleshwaram. The Congress has no right at all to make criticism against the TRS Government taking up a long-term objective to irrigate one crore acres over five years. The Congress, he said, needs to explain as to why their regime failed to complete any projects. He found fault with the Congress former MP Ponnam Prabhakar for his remarks on Tummidihatti project. The Congress should make constructive criticism to help people and stop maligning the image of the government, he suggested.
