HP employees lodge complaint with SIT against Nayeem gang

Hyderabad, Aug.17: Alleged victims of renegade Maoist-turned gangster Nayeem, who died in an encounter recently, are coming forward to lodge complaints with the police that they were criminally intimidated by members of the gang ten years ago in Nalgonda district.

The employees of Hindustan Petroleum (HP) working in Hyderabad approached the Bhongir rural police station in Nalgonda district and lodged a complaint stating that 60 employees had bought some plots on the outskirts of Boyenpalli. But members of the Nayeem gang usurped their land.

According to police, the HP employees bought the land some ten years ago, and they paid the money in installments. Later, they also got their plots registered in their names. “One day when we went to the area to see our plots, the gang member one Posam Srinivas threatened us. He asked us not to come again to this place.

When we resisted, Srinivas said this land was already bought by Bhaisahab and warned us to hand over their original sale deeds. Since we are the employees, we did not dare to oppose and did not file any complaint”, they added.

The employees also stated that after the death of Nayeem and media reports of encouragement by police, “We have decided to lodge a complaint with the police”, they said and urged the police to do justice to them. The SIT, investigating into criminal activities of Nayeem gang, met the victims and collected some information.
