Police issue passes to media for Anantpur CM's trip only to reject them

Sat, Aug 06, 2016, 12:34 PM
The police have issues passes to the media to cover Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's engagements during his tour of Anantpur district on Saturday. Armed with the passes when the media men went to Puttaparthi airport to cover Babu's arrival, they were told that the passes were not valid. The passes were issued by the police themselves. Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy intervened on behalf of the media men, but to no avail. The police were adamant.

The disappointed mediamen hung the passes issued to them by the police to the airport gate and went away without being able to cover the event.

Normally the media catch the ear of a visiting dignitary at the airport because they may not get an opportunity during the VVIP's busy schedule. Besides, the Rayalaseema districts have so many questions to ask about the benefits they could expect in the context of the Special Category Status to AP.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu, who flew in from Gannavaram, landed at Puttaparthi.
