Tollywood producer Achchu Babu beaten by Jr artistes

Tollywood producer Achchu Babu was beaten black and blue by junior artistes at a film shooting site in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday. The junior artistes pulled out Achchu Babu from his vehicle, thrown him down and rained blows on him. The film starring Manchu Manoj was shooting a fighting scene. It soon turned out to be a real street fight with the junior artistes beating up the producer over alleged non-payment of wages and not engaging local youth. While Achchu Babu sustained injuries, the film unit lodged a complaint with the Parawada police against the junior artistes over the beating. Manchu Manoj later addressed the media that the incident created a fear in film units. Previously they would love to shoot in Vizag, but now they had second thoughts. Manoj noted that never had such an incident ever taken place in the Telugu film industry. He alleged that those junior artistes who had no Federation cards had resorted to violence. He also addressed a letter to the government, demanding an inquiry into the incident. Even the producers council condemned the incident. The junior artistes also talked to the media, wherein they denied that the producer was beaten up. They said they only confronted the producer, asking him for the payment of their wages. They told a live TV channel that a star like Manoj should not level such charges against them. Manoj is a star who engages many junior artistes and gives them livelihood. They regretted the charge against the junior artistes by Manoj.
