Why stop desperate people, haven't you cooked & eaten on roads? Justice asks Harish

Wed, Jul 27, 2016, 11:07 AM
Justice Chandra Kumar (Retired) on Wednesday questioned the TRS government dispersing people agitating in the streets against the Mallannasagar reservoir, asking `Have you not done the same thing of coming out into the streets and cooking and having food on the roads? So what's wrong if the people losing their lands and all coming out into the streets to agitate against the one-sided move of the government?'

Justice Chandra Kumar particularly asked Major Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao whether he had not made a big show of people coming out on to the roads and cooking and eating during the Telangana agitation. If that was right then, how could it be wrong now?

Addressing the Mallannasagar outsees' `Mahadharna' agitation, the retired Justice said that in the name of irrigation projects, the TRS government was turning beggars out of the people.

He pinpointed Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and T. Harish Rao as resorting to unlawful acts in the name of irrigation projects.

Justice Chandra Kumar warned the government that taking forcible signatures from the people alienating them of their lands would not culminate in project construction.
