Viv wishes Virat best, but Kohli unleashes double ton

Sat, Jul 23, 2016, 04:40 PM
Former West Indian cricketing great Sir Viv Richards clarified on Friday that he only wished `All the best' formally when he had met the Indian team practising in the International stadium before the Test started. At that time, he did not visualise that Virat Kohli would best his greeting by scoring a double hundred.

Viv said he did not see any century by Virat, but his double hundred was a treat to watch. Those who did not see it were missing something.

Like he scored his first double century abroad, Virat also scored his double hundred abroad.

He admitted playing in foreign pitches was not easy. There was always pressure on a batsman.

Viv was always nervous when coming in to bat, but once he got going, there was no stopping him. The ball would go off his bat like a bullet, and the fielder dare not try to stop it. The fielder would leave the ball alone to the boundary.
