Kustapur temple again getting submerged

Tue, Jul 19, 2016, 04:08 PM
Sri Ramaligneshwaralayam was again half submerged in the Godavari waters at Kustapur in Nizamabad district. After 12 years, the temple had given darshan in November 2015. Now again, it's half submerged. People have been offering prayers at the temple till June 30. Then after many years, the river again started filling in the area.

Thanks to Babli and other projects in Marathwada in Maharashtra, last summer witnessed the river totally running dry in Telangana. Now with Marathwada receiving copious rains, the river against started filling up.

It is estimated that with the opening of the gates of the Babli project in Maharashtra, some 14 to 17 tmc water had started flowing down the river. Ramalingeshwaralayam was again submerged.
