Police file sedition case against Asaduddin Owaisi
The Saroornagar Police on Saturday filed a “sedition” case against All-India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi, for offering legal assistance to the five alleged Islamic State group members arrested by the NIA recently. The case was filed after an advocate K Karuna Sagar moved court against the MIM leader for his aid announcement. The police filed the case under Section 124-A IPC on the direction of Ranga Reddy District & Sessions Court, the police said, adding they were directed by the court to submit an inquiry report by the end of this month. In his complaint, Advocate Karuna Sagar said, "The stand of Asaduddin Owaisi and his remarks tend to boost the morale of anti-nationals and giving support to terrorists. The MIM MP is directly or indirectly helping the ISIS which had come up with a video in which it threatened to target India and this is betrayal of the country."The alleged ISIS module was arrested in Hyderabad last month for their links with the terror outfit, which was planning serial bomb blasts to disturb peace in the cosmopolitan city.
