Infosys offers shares to young staff as retention measure

In order to prevent attrition of the young employees in Infosys, the software company is offering company shares to them. The attrition rate in the company increased from 17.3% to 19.2% in one year. And from 19.2% in one quarter, it increased to 21% in the next. The increase in attrition last year was taken seriously by the management, and it considered offering company shares to prevent it. Infosys chief Operating Officer Praveen Rao has said company shares would be offered to some 7,500 employees. Also the offer of shares would depend upon the employee's work. The idea was to create better work culture among the employees.
