Shahshidhar Reddy team to study Haryana Lift Irrigation Project

Former Minister for Environment and Forum for Utilisation of Godavari Waters Chairman Marri Shashidhar Reddy has said he is leading a delegation comprising Prof. K. Purushotham Reddy, Dr T. Indrasena Reddy and G. Niranjan to study the Jawahar Lal Nehru Lift Irrigation Project Scheme in Haryana on Wednesday. During the visit, they would study the pumping stations and distributaries and hold discussions with officials about the various aspects of the design, operations and management of the Haryana project. “This is very important in the context of the ongoing debate about the design of the irrigation projects in Telangana. We will also address the media”, Shashidhar Reddy said. “After our return from Delhi, we will visit some of the villages that are proposed to be submerged under the Mallannasagar reservoir on July 16 to share our observations of the study tour to Haryana.
