Maharaja reduces fares to Rajdhani & back

In a bid to increase the flight occupancy rate to 80%, Air India wishes to sell tickets till 4 hours prior to a flight departure from New Delhi at the fare of a two-tier Rajdhani train ticket. This will apply to flights from Delhi to Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore and back for the present. Eventually more flights would be added to the Rajdhani fare list by Air India. At present the Air India occupancy rate is 75%. Air India Managing Director Ashwani Lohani said the move was aimed at preventing of last minute skyrocketing of air fares and also to fill vacant seats.
