Who owns Lingamaneni house in which CM resides?

Sat, Jul 09, 2016, 11:03 AM
Smart Pulse Survey in Andhra Pradesh started off on Friday with an enumerator asking Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu about his personal details as to his residence.

It so happens that `Lingamaneni House' in which the Chief Minister is staying on the banks of the Krishna is in a belt of illegal constructions. When the government issued notices to several constructions as well as other mansions in the belt, how was it that Lingamaneni House was spared? This was the question that had first occurred to the opposition YCP. The opposition party also accused the Chief Minister of owning the house.

Chandrababu put a curtain to the entire episode on Friday. He clarified that he had no permanent residence. The residence, Lingamaneni House, had RCC slab for roof. The government had taken the house on a rental basis.

The questionnaire asks: Is your residence owned or rented? The Chief Minister told the enumerator: “If I say `owned', they would say it was encroachment. The government had taken the house on a rental basis. It had not yet taken possession of it.”

This should put curtains to the YCP controversy.
