Industrial policy is for Dalit, BC growth: KTR

Hyderabad, July 8: Industries and IT Minister KT Rama Rao today said that efforts should be made provide employment to Dalits and backward class people and encourage them become investors and entrepreneurs in the state as part of the new industrial policy. At a DICCI program at Gachibowli here he said that efforts will be made to make at least encourage 500 Dalit persons become investors by encouraging at least 10 persons from each district by Ambedkar Jayanthi next year.

He stated that the new industrial policy is fetching new industries and investments to the state and offering job opportunities. Though inclusive growth is possible when the government can offer job and employment opportunities to Dalits, backward and needy classes in the state he maintained. Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao sought to know as to how many people be made investors from backward classes, the new industrial policy is working towards that end he maintained.

He also stated to check the misuse of funds and schemes meant for Dalits and backward class which came to his notice during his visit to Khammam recently. He asked DICCI to come up with some suggestions on the efforts and said that such maladies will be checked and stringent measures will be taken against the violators and help the SCs, STs and BCs to develop. He also agreed to a suggestion of DICCI to conduct a training program on T Pride scheme should be conducted for youth.

Sought some incentives and subsidies to the Dalits and BCs enabling them repayment in easy installments. KTR promised to release arrears and asked to encourage Dalit youth to set up industries of rock sand. DICCI President, K Ravikumar said that their aim is to make 100 billioneers in 10 years and extended thanks to the government for helping to set up Dalit Incubation center in Hyderabad. Industries secretary Arvind Kumar, Industries secretary Manik Raj TSIIC Managing Director Venkat Narsimha Reddy were present.
