Cynthia's Congolese relatives demand her baby

Thu, Jul 07, 2016, 02:41 PM
The love story that soured between an Indian man and Congolese woman took a dramatic turn on Thursday with the relatives of Cynthia Agarwal landing in India and demanding the severest punishment for Rupesh Agarwal, who had killed his wife, and cut her into pieces.

After he collected the pieces together, packed them up and found a lonely place at Shamshabad to burn them, he was found out by the people in the neighbourhood.

They were alerted by the smoke and smell of burning flesh in the bush and they reported the matter to the police.

Even as the criminal tried to scram, Rupesh, who was in a car, could not negotiate the slush and mud after rainfall. He was thus caught red-handed by the police.

While the police have taken him into custody and are investigating, Cynthia's relatives have landed in the city and staged a demonstration at Shamshabad police station, demanding the severest punishment for the killer.

The relatives, six in number, are claiming Rupesh-Cynthia child whom they want to take with them back to the Congo.

The child, a school-going five-year-old is, however, reluctant to go with her Congolese relatives, saying she would remain with her grandmother.
