Prize Money gang busted, two taken into custody from Delhi

The Cyber Crime Police, Hyderabad City, apprehended two offenders, Mohd Javed alias Deepak Bansal, Age 29 years r/o Khajoori khas, Delhi , and Jiyauddin Saifi, Age 26 years r/o Chandbagh, Delhi, who cheated a number of gullible people all over India on the pretext of reviving Insurance policies and winning prize money from online shopping and seized net Cash of Rs. 1,65,000, laptop and mobile phones from them.

The facts of the case are that on June 16, 2016, the police received a complaint from one women victim of Hyderabad, wherein she stated that in the month of June 2015, she received phone calls from cell No. 918459910799 on the names of Shruthi, Deepak Bansal, Akash, Arun Srivastav etc., representing to M/s Global India Services, M/s India Today Book Club (ITBC) M/s TODAY LIVE NET SERVICES and M/s HT TIMES SHOPPING and informed that she won the prize money of Rs. 4,40,000. Later they called her and informed her that her prize enhanced to Rs. 53,00,000 and insisted her to claim the prize money. She has to pay the amounts towards processing fees, taxes and other charges.

Believing their version, she deposited a total amount of Rs.32,99,110 in different bank accounts provided by them. After depositing the amount they did not respond to her calls and disconnect telephone conversation with her.

She realized that she was cheated by them. Hence, she requested the police to take necessary action.

During the investigation, the Cyber Crime team examined, analyzed the CDRs, obtained bank account statements and account holder details. The Team located the offenders in New Delhi, apprehended the accused persons on July 2, and brought them to Hyderabad on transit warrant.

The Cyber Crime PS team P.Ravi Kiran, Inspector of Police, E.Raghuveer Reddy, SI and PCs. Maheshwar Reddy, Venkataramana, Prasad cracked this case under supervision of K.C.S.Raghuveer A.C.P. Cyber Crime Police Station.
