Governor sets aside protocol seeking meet with Babu

Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan has put aside protocol and flying to Vijayawada seeking a meeting with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on the important meet in connection with a split of the AP High Court. Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad contacted the CMO in Vijayawada and found Chandrababu being busy with the State administration. Rajbhavan was told Chandrababu would be busy in the morning, so in the evening a meeting would be possible. So the Governor would be flying to Vijayawada on Wednesday evening for a meeting with Chandrababu on Thursday morning. He would be staying in Vijayawada till the meet with Chandrababu takes place. Only after the meeting would he be flying to Tirupati for a darshan of the Lord. The split of the AP High Court takes significance following the unnatural split of the combined Andhra Pradesh. Not any of the important provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act had been implemented. Now the Telangana lawyers have invoked the Act for a split of the AP High Court, which had to be carried out within 2 years. The Centre has to give funds for the construction of the new High Court in Amaravati, for which the State government has allocated land. It is therefore for the Centre to give funds. The Centre washes off its hands, saying it is a matter between the State governments. But the States are insisting it is for the Centre to make the move. The Central government cannot get away because it is the Centre that brought about the unnatural split of the combined Andhra Pradesh without conceding any of its promises, particularly the Special Category Status. Andhra Pradesh can insist on conceding the SCS, which is a popular demand in the State, first.
