West Indies-bound Ashwin hurt in practice session

Mon, Jul 04, 2016, 03:36 PM
Key Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was injured in a practice session on Monday, as Team India was bound for a tough tour of the West Indies.

Ahswin is considered a key figure in the squad because of his bowling prowess. But because of the injury to his bowling hand he was kept out of the practice session, even as the team is to leave in 2 days.

How serious is the injury is not known.

In the West Indies, Team India will play two warm-up matches before playing four Tests.

It's serious cricket in the West Indies without T20 and one-day variety games.

The other mainline spinner is Amit Mishra in the team.

Because of the IPL format, the Indians are familiar with West Indian bowlers. Their pacers are no more as threatening as they were a couple of decades ago.
