Sat, Jul 02, 2016, 05:20 PM
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu told a media meet on Saturday that the state government's efforts to conserve water were paying off. He wanted the digging of 100 water tanks taken up in each village.

Chandrababu noted that the Pattiseema was specifically aimed at saving water from going waste into the sea. The Pattiseema water would be released from July 6. Water auditing would be taken up.

The inter-linking of the Krishna and Penna rivers would be taken up soon.

Irrigation water for drip irrigation would be supplied to 5 million acres in the State. The power subsidy for the agriculture sector would be Rs 5500 crore, he added.
