After Brexit, EU to bid Eexit for Britons

Wed, Jun 29, 2016, 02:04 PM
As a consequence of Brexit, the casualty is the use of the English language by the European Union. Member countries, other than Britain, have not registered English as their official langauge. So Brexit may also mean Eexit for the EU. While English is a global language, it is sad Europe itself will not recognise it as the European Union language.

`We have a regulation where every EU has the right to notify one official language. The Irish have notified Gaelic and the Maltese have notified Maltese, so you have only the UK notifying English,' said the Polish Member of European Parliament Danuta Hubner, questioning the use of English any longer.

In this situation, regulations may have to be changed to retain English. `If you do not have the UK, you do not have English,' The Times reported.

The EU has 24 official languages. But for daily business, they use English, French and German. After the UK exits formally, the EU might as well say Eexit to Britons.
