Chandrababu Naidu Begins China Tour, Meets Industrialists

Vijayawada, June 26: A P chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu began his China tour, meeting the Chairman of Hanzhou Dingsheng Industry Group Zhou Xiangai, Vice – General Manager Ms. Chang Weixin, Chief Legal Counselor Wang Xiaoqing.

The Dingsheng group, which engages in the manufacturing and sale of air conditioning aluminium foil, has expressed its interest in making investments in mining and mineral sectors in Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Minister mentioned that Andhra Pradesh is endowed with rich mineral wealth. He also elaborated advantages in investing in Andhra Pradesh and the numerous opportunities available in the state. “We are number two in the ease of doing business and number three in attracting foreign direct investment,” he said.

A delegation from Hanzhou Dingsheng Industry Group already visited Andhra Pradesh on 24th April, 2016 and met the Industries Secretary. Dingsheng is the largest manufacturer of Aluminum foil in China. The products are widely applied in a lot of industries including home appliance, electronic communication, transportation, medicine, packaging, printing, chemical industry, electricity and building materials.

Soon after the 1st meeting, the Chief Minister met the Minister for Development Strategies and International trade Sri Lanka, Malik Samarawickrama.

The minister enquired about the progress of the new Capital Amaravati. “Our Prime Minister is keen to work with you. He remembers the mention of Amaravati in Srilankan history in Buddhism context,” said Malik Samarawickrama. Sri Lanka and Andhra Pradesh can work together to tap tourism potential the Minister added.

In reply, the Chief Minister said that the government is adopting port- led the development and want to be the gateway to South East Asia.

Malik Samarawickrama extended an invitation to the Chief Minister to visit Sri Lanka. Later, the Chief Minister met the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Kuwaiti Danish Dairy Company, Mohammed Jaffer.

The Dairy Company has shown interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh. Mohammed Jaffer evinced interest to explore the opportunities in India and Andhra Pradesh and to expand their business interests. The Chief Minister asked him to send his team for exploring investments opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.
