Anil Kumble likely to emerge Indian cricket coach

The choice for the Indian team's cricket coach seems to have narrowed down to Anil Kumble and Ravi Shastri. If Team India Captain, Virat Kohli, has his way, it will be either Anil Kumble, who is mentor for the Royal Challengers of Bangalore, or Indian Managaer Ravi Shastri. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has offered a list of 57 names after trimming it to 21 to the advisory committee comprising Sachin tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman. Anil Kumble is well known to the committee, not that Ravi Sahstri is not. But the committee members have played with Anil Kumble. The other names doing the rounds are Sandip Patil, who has experience with coaching Kenya to reckoning, Vikram Rathour, Pravin Amre, Venkatesh Prasad, Lalchand Rajput, Stuart Law and Tom Moody. The job of Indian coach is not a cushy one. He has to handle the dressing room quarrels. These have forced the Indian Captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, to opt out of Test captaincy. The Coach will have to handle cricket field-size egos of the players who shy away from fast bowling in fast-pitch conditions.
