Wed, Jun 22, 2016, 06:34 PM
A Cabinet Sub-Committee at a meeting on Wednesday discussed the double-bedroom scheme and housing projects in Telangana.

Presiding over the meeting, Housing Minister A Indrakaran Reddy said as part of constructing two-bedroom houses, tenders for one lakh houses were called for and the process would be expedited.

The Sub-Committee asked the officials to expedite the process of the projects, as the government was to keen to keep its promise to provide permanent shelter to the poor families.

Finding the officials calling tenders to construct the houses, the minister said a field-level visit would be made to those ventures. Another meeting will take a decision on extending time for the completion of the project, as it was being sought by the Housing Board and private companies.

Indrakaran said they were examining the issue of delay in releasing funds for the Indiramma housing project.

Finance Minister Eatala Rajender, Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy and officials were among those who participated in the discussions on the housing projects.
