TS to finance select SC students study abroad from 2016

The Telangana government will give financial assistance to Scheduled Castes students who are willing to study in foreign universities under “Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi Pathakam”. Applications are invited from the SC students of Telangana State, who are desirous of pursuing higher studies in professional courses like Engineering/ Management / Pure sciences/ Agriculture sciences / Medicine & Nursing / Social Sciences / Humanities in foreign universities in the USA, UK, Australia, Canada and Singapore. The scholarship amount up to Rs 20 lakh will be given to SC students towards tuition fee, living expenses, one-way flight travel expenses and visa fee and so on. The candidates should belongs to the SC community and native of Telangana State only. Both family and student’s Income shall be below Rs 2 lakh per annum from all sources. Income certificate obtained from Mee Seva center is only valid. Maximum age under the scheme shall not exceed 35 years as on July 1, 2016. Countries where further education can be pursued under the scheme are USA, UK, Australia, Canada and Singapore. A minimum of 60% of marks or equivalent grade in Degree for pursuing PG Courses and in P.G. course for studying PhD courses are required. Students should have valid GRE, TOFEL/IELTS/GMAT scores. Student should have valid passport and VISA, where one intends to study. Admission letter from accredited University/Institutions Abroad should be produced. One person per family is only eligible of this scheme. Interested students should apply in http://teanganaepass.cgg.gov.in in the prescribed format along with uploading documents. Registrations shall be closed on June 30, 2016. The candidates are required to attend at the Director (SCDD), Masab Tank, DSS Bhavan, 3rd floor, Hyderabad on July 12 at 9 am for verification of certificates and thereafter attend for selections by the State-Level Committee meeting to be held. They shall bring all original documents for verification by the committee. Further details of the scheme are available in e-Pass website.
