Narayanswamy Ministers fritter away Yoga chances
`Don't play politics on Yoga Day. I will do my work,' Lieutenant-Governor Kiran Bedi said on Tuesday and did not wait for the Narayanswamy Ministry to heed her call to make the international day event a big thing. The Narayanswamy Ministry had excused themselves, saying they had another engagment. What was so pressing for them only they would know. But their charge is that Kiran Bedi is trying to interfere in the ministry affairs. The Ministry seemed to pick up a fight with the Lieutenant-Governor becasue she is the nomineee of the BJP. Like in Uttarakhand, they apparently have fears about the Lieutenant-governor. So it would not matter for them if it was national day or International Day of Yoga. Puducherry, with the aura of Sri Aurobindo and Auroville, perfectly suits Kiran Bedi and her ideals and Yoga is better practised in the Union territory. Instead of getting the past glory back, the Narayanswamy Ministers have frittered away a good opportunity by playing politics.
