This is my last term, says Venkaiah Naidu

Sat, Jun 18, 2016, 11:40 AM
BJP's senior leader Venkaiah Naidu has a 2022 plan: He is not going to contest in either direct or indirect elections thereafter. He would instead get himself involved in social work like Nanaji Deshmukh.

Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu was born in Andhra but had to go to Karnataka and Rajasthan to get elected to the Rajya Sabha. He holds the record for getting elected to the Rajya sabha four times. Recently, he was asked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be alongside and cooperate with him. That is why he contested the Rajya Sabha poll.

Venkaiah said he would no more be contesting even the indirect elections. This was his last term. After the term, he was thinking of taking up social work.

Venkaiah holds the key Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs when the party is still in a minority in the Rajya Sabha. His interventions have been effective in the one-sided House.
