`Udta Punjab' is riding high on websites, in streets

`Udta Punjab' may have political agenda, but its hidden agenda to publicise the film in the open market is clear.

According to the Telugu Film chamber, the cinema is being shown on 732 websites and the number is only growing.

Hyderabad Anti-Piracy Division head A. Rajkumar said on Friday that the pirated film is the same copy that was submitted to the Censor Board, which had recommended 80-odd cuts in the film. The producers approached the High Court which restricted the cuts to fewer number.

Even as the Mumbai Cyber Crime Cell is wanting the pirated film to be removed from websites, more and more websites were figuring as showing the film.

The 2.20-hour-long film DVD is already available in the streets. `For Censors' is clearly there on each print. The people are prefering the DVDs because these would not have any cuts.

Censor Board chief Prahlaz Nihlani has accused the producers of the secret behind the film's release on so many websites. The same copy that was given to the board was also uploaded, he added.
