Telangana NRI Policy soon: KTR

Hyderabad, June 11: Telangana Government will soon roll out a new NRI policy, according to Information Technology and MAUD Minister K T Rama Rao. The minister, who has already discussed on the NRI issues, asked the officials concerned to study on the similar policies being implemented in Kerala and Punjab and replicate the important points for the safety and security of the NRIs from Telangana.

Since many youths are going to Gulf and other nations for livelihood, the State government was trying to check the deception by companies and irregularities involved. KTR said a related meeting would be called to formulate the new policy to be announced after taking approval from Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The meeting is aimed to find a solution to Gulf victims meet with accidents some of which are proving fatal and related issues.

Some organizations and companies coming with investments and other stakeholders will attend the meeting to offer valuable suggestions for preparing a better NRI policy to check the woes of migrant laborers. It is likely that the new policy to be framed will come out with needed steps to provide immediate measures towards financial assistance, providing job security and guiding them for complete information to avoid fake companies, which are likely to deceive them.
