PM leaves on five-nation tour to Kabul

Sat, Jun 04, 2016, 12:38 PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi left on Saturday on five-nation five-day tour by a special plane. He will be visiting Afghanistan, Qatar, Switzerland, USA and Mexico.

The first stop is Afghanistan where he will be meeting President Ashraf Ghani. They will start the India-Afghan Friendship dam (Salma dam). By the evening he will leave for Qatar in the Gulf, where he will have talks with the Prime Minister and other ministers. From Qatar, he will leave for Switzerland.

On June 6, he will leave for Washington, where he will have some important engagements. These include meeting outgoing President Barack Obama who had specially invited Prime Minister Modi as he leaves office. He will also be addressing the members of US Congress as `Indian Prime Minister.' This has been made clear by the US House leaders owing to the refusal of US visa to Modi in the past.

On June 8, the Prime Minister will leave for Mexico, where he will have talks with President Enrique Pena Nieto.
