Amaravati farmers to get satisfactory compensation

The government is acquiring lands from the farmers only sufficient for the Amaravati capital construction needs, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu clarified on Wednesday. In an interview to a TV channel, he said the farmers had come forward to give their lands voluntarily. Such farmers should be thanked for their gesture. They would get the compensation that would satisfy them, he added. The Chief Minister claimed that AP was the only State which had waived Rs 24,000 crore farmers loans. As for the farmers' loan waiver, there was no parallel in the country, he added. He said the farmers loans were being waived in phases.
