Summons to Vijay Mallya by Erramanzil court returned

Wed, May 25, 2016, 12:22 PM
The Erramanzil court has got back the summons it had issued against liquor king Vijay Mallya, as the addressee was not traceable.

It is well known that Vijay Mallya is living a luxurious life in his five-acre estate near London acquired allegedly with money given away by Indian banks. The London property of the liquor baron is well protected by the British, which is hosting another fugitive Lalit Modi, who is also charged with money laundering like Vijay Mallya.

The Erramanzil court in the city has sent the summons to Vijay Mally in connection with a cheque bounce case filed against him by the GMR group.

Now the court has asked the police to find the correct address of Vijay Mallya so the summons can be sent to Vijay Mallya afresh.

The court fixed the next hearing in the cheque bounce case to June 6. The court directed the police to give them the Vijay Mallya address at the time of next hearing.
