Man tries to romance with lioness in Nehru zoo, held

The man who tried to give shake hands to a pride couple of lions landed from the zoo into the police lockup. The Hyderabad police filed a case against him and put him in the lock-up. Mukesh, working for the Larsen and Toubro company, went to the Neru Zoological Park on Sunday and tried to romance with the lioness in an inebriated condition. Mukesh, who jumped into the moat, crossed it and went up to the shocked lioness. He then addressed it as the dear one, and went almost to shaking hands distance with the lioness. Even as the lioness gaped at him, the lion came out of their enclosure and watched the situation as its rival advanced. The lioness duly ignored him, even as zookeepers threw stones to keep the lions away from the man. Mukesh extended his arm and kept it outstretched for considerable time, but the pride simnply tried to ignore him, even as the lion took an attack-type posture. The horrified visitors were shouting at Mukesh to return. The shouting was such that the lions were scared away. The Man who came to shake hands with them returned with unrequited love. As he recrossed the moat, he was taken into custody. Now he is in police remand.
