CM tells staff to shift to Amaravati by June 27

Sat, May 21, 2016, 05:43 PM
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday asked the employees to shift to the new capital Amaravati before June 27.

Speaking to the media after releasing EAMCET results in Vijayawada, the Chief Minister said the staf may have to bear some problems for the sake of welfare of the people of the State.

He said it would take two years to complete construction of new capital Amaravati. However, more funds would be sanctioned for the temporary secretariat so that the buildings could be used in future after Amaravati capital was ready.

Chandrababu pointed out that drought and cyclone have become recurring problems for Andhra Pradesh. Therefore, he asked all the employees to come to Amaravati by June 27.

The Chief Minister said he had been constantly working day and night for the development of the State. “Although my wife also did not come to Vijayawada, she was staying in Hyderabad because of business and she was coming to Vijayawada on week-ends. But I am working constantly for the development of the State. I have no time to spend time with my grandson”, he bemoaned.

During the interaction with mediapersons, they faced an embarrassing situation when the Chief Minister asked a reporter “Are you in Telangana?” when he raised a ticklish question.
