Jonty Rhodes fields for Shakti cult

Mon, May 02, 2016, 02:56 PM
Jonty Rhodes, South African cricket coach for Mumbai Indians and one of the greatest fielders ever in cricket, is now fielding for the Shakti cult.

Jonty, whose name was chanted by the Mumbai crowds whenever he made his appearance at Wankhede or Brabourne stadium for his fielding exploits, says India is his second home and he has faith in Hinduism. To prove his point, he became the priest at the Durga temple at Pejavar math in Mumbai.

Fully clad in Dhoti and yellow upper cloth, Jonty has performed the duties of a priest at the temple.

Whether it was one-off appearance is not known, but Jonty's picture in the priest's role has gone viral, with likes from such cricket greats as Virender Sehwag and others.
